Getting Started with Vid2Pod

Vid2Pod is GulfERP’s video‑to‑podcast tool that turns YouTube videos into podcast episodes — no extra uploads. Once connected, new videos you publish to a selected YouTube playlist will be converted to audio and added to your GulfERP podcast feed automatically.

Overview: What you’ll do

  1. Choose GulfERP Publisher and enable Vid2Pod
  2. Accept Vid2Pod Terms of Service
  3. Connect your YouTube channel
  4. Select the playlist to convert
  5. Set import preferences (all videos or from a date)
  6. Import and let Vid2Pod generate podcast episodes

Prerequisites

  • An active GulfERP Hosting account
  • A YouTube channel with at least one playlist you control

Best practice: Use a dedicated playlist for Vid2Pod. Do not use a playlist already attached to another podcast RSS feed.

Step 1 — Open Publishing Settings

  1. Log in to your GulfERP Podcaster Dashboard.
  2. In the left menu, go to Dashboard, then click the Publishing button at the top.

Step 2 — Choose GulfERP Publisher & Enable Vid2Pod

  1. On the Publishing Settings screen, select GulfERP Publisher (Recommended).
  2. Check Use Vid2Pod with this option.
  3. Click Save and Continue.

Step 3 — Accept Vid2Pod Terms

Review the Vid2Pod Terms of Service (includes copyright and indemnification). Check the required boxes and click Agree to proceed.

Only convert YouTube videos you own or are authorized to use.

Step 4 — Connect Your YouTube Channel

  1. Enter your YouTube Channel Handle (e.g., @YourChannelName) and click the search icon.
  2. When your channel appears, select Yup, this is my show!
  3. Click Confirm.

If search doesn’t find your channel, double‑check the handle format (include the @ symbol) and that the channel is public.

Step 5 — Select a YouTube Playlist

  1. Choose the playlist that contains the videos you want converted into podcast episodes.
  2. Click Confirm.

Important: Do not use a playlist already tied to another podcast RSS feed.

Step 6 — Set Import Preferences

  1. Choose to import all videos in the playlist or set a start date.
  2. Select whether to use your existing channel artwork or upload your own.
  3. Click Import to begin the conversion.

What happens next?

When the initial import completes, you’ll see a Conversion Complete message on your Dashboard. From then on, whenever you publish a video to the selected playlist:

  • It’s automatically converted to audio.
  • It appears as a new episode in your GulfERP podcast feed.
  • Your feed updates the podcast apps/directories where your show is listed (Apple Podcasts, Spotify, etc.).

Conversion time varies with video length and processing load. Episodes will appear automatically once processing completes.

Tips & Notes

  • Titles & descriptions: Keep your YouTube titles and descriptions clear — they help create clean podcast episode metadata.
  • Artwork: Choose channel artwork that meets podcast app guidelines (square, high‑resolution) or upload custom artwork during setup.
  • Playlists: Use a dedicated playlist for content you want in your podcast feed.

Common hiccups: Channel not found (check handle), wrong playlist selected, or playlist already linked elsewhere. Adjust settings and retry the import.
